About A.B. Plumbing

In 1964, Alan Beasley decided to take the plunge and open a heating and plumbing merchants, so in the back streets of Bourneville, A.B. Plumbing Supplies was born. In the years to come, and with the help of one assistant, the company slowly built up a local reputation for supplying quality goods at keen prices.

Today, nearly 40 years later, we have moved just up the road to Kings Norton, we have added another branch at Shirley and also a dedicated plastics outlet, also in Kings Norton. The management team has changed too, with myself, Andrew Beasley, and David Bewick taking over as directors, and with Mark Barnes, Spencer Bell and Neil Williams as depot managers, all backed up by an experienced team of assistants.

A commitment to reinvestment over the years, together with careful control of costs and overheads, has enabled the company to invest heavily in expanding its stock and to hold the ever-increasing range of products available.

We also recognise the importance of a fast and effective delivery service and now have more vehicles and drivers at our disposal, proving that good service never goes out of fashion.

But now is not the time for complacency. Whilst recognising our achievements and strengths, we must also give time to consider the future - with the large national groups consolidating and the number of independent merchants steadily delining, the need for careful planning and strategy is required. But by establishing closer links with our customers and listening carefully to their thoughts and needs, we are confident that we shall still be around in another 40 years.
